At the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas in January, Vesper was honored with an IHS Markit Innovation Award by IHS Markit, a world leader in critical information, analytics and solutions. IHS presented the winners at the ShowStoppers press event where Vesper was honored with an award in the home audio category for its piezoelectric MEMS microphones.
The Innovation Awards showcase companies that are producing creative and ingenious products for the consumer marketplace. The award highlighted innovative product design that plays audio content in the home. Vesper and other technology leaders stood out for their creativity, ingenuity, and spirit of innovation.
Serving as a hotbed for innovators and breakthrough technologies, CES is the global stage where next-generation innovations like Vesper’s mics are introduced to the marketplace. Vesper exhibited for the first time at ShowStoppers, an invitation-only media reception that offers companies an opportunity to meet with over 1,300 journalists, industry and financial analysts, and business executives.
The Vesper booth featured many consumer products that its microphones are embedded in, including a simplehuman sensor trash can that opens with a voice command. Additionally, many big name smart home devices will include Vesper’s microphones in 2019 and beyond, which are not yet publicly disclosed. A demonstration showcasing the microphone’s superior performance even when dunked in beer was a hit, driving many attendees to Vesper’s booth. CEO Matt Crowley conducted dozens of media interviews at the event with media such as Investor’s Business Daily, The Verge and VentureBeat, introducing the microphones to captivated journalists.
