LEAD ACOUSTIC-MECHANICAL ENGINEER
Lead Acoustic-Mechanical Engineer at Vesper’s offices in Boston, Massachusetts will lead the Mechanical Engineering team within Vesper’s Test Team and will report directly to Vesper’s Test & Characterization Manager. Lead Acoustic-Mechanical Engineer will quantify and provide valid statistical characterization data to aid in product design improvement definitions and implementations. More specifically, Lead Acoustic-Mechanical Engineer will be primarily responsible for: Designing, fabricating and assembling customized test systems utilizing 3D printing and conventional fabrication methods; Developing process documentation, test methods and test plans; Implementing and executing functional and performance testing and integrated circuit characterization and analysis; Determining if Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (“ASICs”) and MEMS systems meet design specifications and will perform as intended in their final environments; Reviewing and revising designs for test sockets, test fixtures and isolation chambers to achieve better acoustic measurement; Designing and implementing acoustic testing at wafer level to enable predictive testing of final product; Creating evaluation reports on part performance; Assisting the Company’s Product Engineering Team with tasks such as performance and reliability testing, process variation assessment, guard banding, and yield analysis; and Leading and mentoring a Mechanical Engineering team, including direct supervision and oversight of at least one Mechanical Engineer.
Must have: Master’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, plus 1 year of mechanical engineering experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Characterization Engineer, MEMS/ Microsystems Engineer, Design Engineer or related engineering position; OR Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, plus 5 years of mechanical engineering experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Characterization Engineer, MEMS/Microsystems Engineer, Design Engineer or related engineering position. Must also have (or experience must include): Experience with acoustic testing or design; 3-D modeling experience using SolidWorks; Knowledge of data acquisition techniques; Strong hardware development skills, including circuit design, schematic capture and board layout; and Advanced understanding of medium or large scale programming such as LabView.
